DIsability Friendly Playgrounds

Last term Pod 4 studied 'Senses'. We researched and learnt that our senses are really important to us everyday.  WE also learnt about people without some of the senses and how they can still manage to do things.  We had a look at our playgrounds and even though we think they are great we noticed that there were no wheelchair friendly places or equipment. WE know that children with disabilities still like to play just like all kids. SO we researched  wheelchair friendly playground equipment and discovered that there is a lot of things we could add to ours (if ever there was enough money to do it).
Take a look at our disability friendly playgrounds that all kids could play on - disabled or not.
We think they are really cool playgrounds. Don't you agree.

Kapa Haka

Pod 4's Kapa Haka children practised their waiata to us at Tipuranga Time today.  The Wanaka Primary School Kapa Haka group is going to perform at the Polyfest in Invercargill next Tuesday.  We wish them all the best and that they do well.  It is a big event Safe travels.

BOok Character Day

What an amazing variety of book characters in Pod 4 today.  Don't they look amazing.  Even the teachers got dressed up.
Later in the morning we had a visit from a real author!  Neil Brown read two of his stories to the children - "The Grumpy Grader and "Little Grey Fergie, and explained his writing process.

Junior Challenge Wanaka

Some very happy faces after the race on Friday.  Well done children - you all ran and biked hard and deserved your chill time back at school.
